Azure Tier 3 Cloud Support Engineer
The Azure Tier 3 Cloud Support Engineer is primarily focused on operational support and the accompanying deployment processes.
The role is responsible for delivering high-quality operational services, maintaining, and improving the operational state. The ideal candidate is expected to be well-rounded in Azure (IaaS and PaaS). They must have a strong background in Automation, Azure, Linux, and Containers.
Responsibilities
- Work with various technologies to maintain, deliver, and support operational services.
- Collaborate with operational staff, project management, cloud architects, security, and product management to ensure seamless transitions of new or modified services to production.
- Act as a lead in operational issues across country borders, representing the One Platform Operations organization.
Key Duties
- Be a subject matter expert in related disciplines.
- Promote and uphold global standards.
- Work with outsourced providers and development teams, ensuring quality assurance.
- Serve as an escalation level support for problem analysis and resolution.
- Manage small projects to enhance the environment.
- Participate in on-call rotation as an escalation point.
- Ensure operational services function according to agreed service levels.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts in areas of expertise.
- Ensure infrastructure and operational services comply with security standards.
- Identify opportunities for improving One Platform operational services.
- Develop procedures and metrics to measure service effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement security and data integrity solutions that meet enterprise standards.
- Implement, test, and support Microsoft solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
- Provide technical support alongside external teams and outsourced providers.
- Seek ways to enhance operations through automation and cost optimization.
- Provide feedback to Development and Automation teams.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Azure (IaaS & PaaS Products)
- Linux
- Containers (Kubernetes, etc.)
- DNS and Networking
- Azure Monitoring
- Familiarity with SCCM and SCOM
- Strong background in Automation and Azure
- Hands-on experience in drawing detailed technical diagrams and authoring technical documentation
- Ability to analyze situations rigorously, logically, and systematically
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, business-critical operational environment
- Strong cross-cultural collaboration skills
